Fire Safety Policy
The CLAYS™ BD

 

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Fire Safety Policy is to ensure the prevention of fire incidents and to protect life, property, and business operations at all The CLAYS™ BD premises.

 

2. Scope

This policy applies to all outlets, offices, kitchens, storage areas, staff, contractors, and visitors of The CLAYS™ BD.

 

3. Fire Prevention Measures

- Maintain good housekeeping and keep escape routes clear at all times.

- Do not overload electrical sockets or use damaged cables.

- Store flammable materials safely and away from heat sources.

- LPG cylinders must be stored, handled, and maintained as per safety standards.

- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all premises except designated areas.

 

4. Fire Protection Equipment

- Fire extinguishers must be installed as per risk assessment.

- Automatic fire suppression systems must be maintained where applicable.

- Fire alarms, emergency lights, and exit signs must remain functional.

- Fire equipment must not be tampered with or obstructed.

 

5. Roles & Responsibilities

Management:

- Ensure compliance with fire safety standards.

- Provide necessary fire safety equipment.

- Arrange periodic fire drills and training.

 

Staff:

- Follow fire safety instructions.

- Report hazards or faulty equipment immediately.

- Participate in fire drills and training sessions.

 

6. Fire Emergency Procedure

In case of fire:

- Raise the alarm immediately.

- Inform the supervisor/manager.

- Use fire extinguishers only if trained and safe to do so.

- Evacuate the building calmly using nearest exits.

- Do not use elevators.

- Assemble at the designated assembly point.

 

7. Evacuation & Assembly

- Follow marked evacuation routes.

- Assist customers, elderly, or disabled persons.

- Headcount must be conducted at the assembly point.

 

8. Training & Drills

- Fire safety training must be conducted for all staff.

- Fire drills should be conducted periodically.

- New employees must receive fire safety orientation.

 

9. Maintenance & Inspection

- Fire extinguishers must be inspected regularly.

- Electrical systems must be checked periodically.

- Records of inspections and drills must be maintained.

 

10. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as required.
