Lost & Found Policy
The CLAYS™ BD
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that any personal belongings lost or found within The CLAYS™ BD premises are handled responsibly, securely, and transparently.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all CLAYS™ BD outlets, employees, management, customers, and visitors.
3. Definition
Lost Item: Any personal belonging reported missing by a customer or staff.
Found Item: Any item discovered within the premises by staff or customers.
4. Procedure for Found Items
- Any found item must be handed over immediately to the Shift Supervisor or Manager.
- Found items must be recorded in the Lost & Found Register.
- Items will be stored in a designated secure area.
- Valuable items must be kept in a locked cabinet.
5. Procedure for Lost Items (Customer Claim)
- Customer must describe the item accurately.
- Proof of ownership may be required.
- Item will be handed over after verification.
- Customer must sign the Lost & Found Register.
6. Retention Period
General Items: 14 days
Valuable Items: 30 days
Perishable Items: Disposed same day
7. Unclaimed Items
Unclaimed items may be donated, disposed of, or handed to authorities after the retention period.
8. Staff Responsibility
Any misuse or mishandling of found items may result in disciplinary action.
9. Management Responsibility
Management will ensure proper record keeping, secure storage, and periodic checks.
10. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as necessary.
